The journey follows lesser-known routes, revealing ancient rock carvings and remote oases such as Akka and surrounding villages known for their natural beauty and historical significance. As you cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains, enjoy panoramic views and photo stops before arriving in Tata, a serene oasis town where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Tata ➝ Foum Zguid ➝ Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, continue toward the Sahara Desert. The scenery gradually transforms as you pass through arid plains and desert settlements, reaching Foum Zguid before heading off-road. From here, cross the vast, dried Lake Iriqui, an impressive and isolated landscape leading to the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Upon arrival, camels await to take you across the sand dunes just in time to watch the sunset. The evening is spent in the heart of the desert, surrounded by silence, stars, and traditional hospitality.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga ➝ M’hamid ➝ Tamegroute ➝ Draa Valley ➝ Ouarzazate
Wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, a magical moment of shifting colors and calm. After breakfast, leave the desert and head toward M’hamid, the last village before the deep Sahara. Continue to Tamegroute, known for its ancient kasbah and historic library. The route then follows the Draa Valley, a long ribbon of palm groves, villages, and agricultural life set against an otherwise arid landscape. By evening, arrive in Ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate ➝ Ait Ben Haddou ➝ High Atlas ➝ Marrakech
Today’s journey takes you to Ait Ben Haddou, an iconic fortified village recognized for its remarkable earthen architecture and cinematic history.
